What happens in a Bowen Treatment?

A Bowen treatment lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. A full assessment is carried out prior to your treatment. It will also give you sufficient time to explain why you are here and what you are hoping that the treatment will help you with. The Bowen move is a gentle rolling move over the belly of a muscle, a tendon and sometimes a neurovascular bundle. The move is done on specific parts of the body but it is felt throughout the whole of the body.

What is unique about Bowen is the breaks in between the moves this allows time for your body to start processing the signals and responses. Bowen works by stimulating the body’s natural healing process.

The treatment is carried out on a couch or a chair, it can be adapted to suit your needs. It is done over light clothing.
